I was vegan in the 1990s as a teenager which was hard to sustain so I went back to vegetarian and then meat again when I falsely believed it was 'better' here (Europe) . No. Factory farms abound. Went on a trip to thr Alps and saw horrendous things happening to dairy cows on small family farms with pastures so again I was like fuck this shit! Vegan again. Now I consider myself mostly plant based but I live in the countryside, my neighbors give us eggs from chickens I give kitchen scraps too. And if I am on a holiday I will eat low food chain fish like sardines and anchioves. I'm lactose intollerant so cheese won't be making a come back but if it did it would be sheep or goat. As we get older we have less concern with purity. However I still don't think animal products should make up more than 10-15% of the human diet. I'm almost 50 and run leagues around my meat heavy friends in terms of health.
